For about two years, pages and librarians have occasionally found single socks in the stacks, just shoved in on top of the books, in the public library I'm working in. No one has particularly noticed any people walking around either barefoot or sockless in the library and we don't know where the socks come from or how they got there. There aren't a lot of hidden corners either, where people could remove their socks without being seen...
Has anyone else noticed anything weird like this?
